Lucy Squance

With previous commercial Marketing and PR roles Lucy started her fundraising career at Cancer Research UK in 2004. During this time she successfully lead Volunteer Fundraising teams and also helped set-up and establish the new Regional Corporate Team.

To gain more industry experience Lucy worked with THINK as an interim manager and freelance consultant, trouble-shooting business processes, developing fundraising strategies and growing core income steams. Some key roles include; Head of Fundraising for Action on Hearing Loss strategic planning & implementation of a regional community fundraising team; Head of Fundraising for Sue Ryder, Thorpe Hall Hospice supporting final phase of £2m capital appeal for a new hospice.

Lucy now works as Director of Supporter-led Fundraising for Alzheimer’s Research UK. Since starting in Jan 2016 Lucy has re-structured the Community & Sporting Events functions, instigated new fundraising products including ‘I Fight dementia’ DIY campaign and shaped the development and marketing of Running Down Dementia, the charities first virtual running event. Delivering 80% year on yearr growth in her first year. Lucy is passionate about people development and sharing the skills she has learnt over the years.
